Why ServiceKnight

We’re not the biggest agency you could hire. That’s the point.

We built ServiceKnight because most digital agencies are designed to protect themselves, not help their clients. Long contracts. Layers of account managers between you and the work. Reports full of numbers that don’t mean anything. We run the opposite playbook.

What We Believe

Four ideas that run everything we do.

Every agency has values on their website. Most of them are interchangeable. These actually change what we do day to day.

01

Honesty beats closing.

The best sales pitch is sometimes telling someone they don’t need our services. When we say “yes, we can help,” it’s because we actually can. When we say “you’re wasting money, cancel the call with the other guy too,” we mean that too.

02

Speed isn’t optional.

Your website loads fast or it loses customers. Your rankings climb or the money you spent was a donation. Your email gets a reply today or it doesn’t. We treat “fast enough” as a code word for “not done yet.”

03

No middlemen between you and the work.

The person who replies to your email is the same person who writes your code, tunes your SEO, and watches your site at 2 a.m. when your traffic spikes. No account managers. No “let me loop in our delivery team.” Just the people actually doing the work.

04

Long games pay off.

Most agencies are built around quarterly numbers. We’re built around five-year relationships. Our oldest clients have been with us since we started, and we’d rather grow slowly with good people than fast with anyone who’ll sign.

The Honest Comparison

How we’re different from “typical agencies.”

We’ve been on the client side of bad agencies. These are the specific things we decided to do differently.

Typical Agency

You’ve probably worked with this.

  • 6–8 week “discovery” before anyone touches your site
  • Account manager stands between you and the work
  • Billing questions get a ticket number
  • 12-month contracts with auto-renew clauses
  • Monthly reports full of impressions and reach
  • “Custom proposal” (read: made up when you asked)
  • Mystery scope — “that’ll be extra”
  • You don’t own your domain, site files, or Google Profile
  • Ghost mode when results slow down
ServiceKnight

What we actually do.

  • Start real work within 7–10 days of signing
  • Direct line to the people who build and maintain your site
  • Billing questions? Text us. Same day, every time.
  • Month-to-month on everything — cancel any month
  • Reports show leads, rankings, and revenue — in plain English
  • Flat pricing posted on the website. No “custom” upsells.
  • Scope is in writing. What’s extra is explicitly labeled.
  • You own your domain, files, content, and Google Profile
  • We tell you when results slow down — with a plan attached
Our Commitments

Seven things we promise, in writing.

Not vibes. Not mission statements. Specific operational commitments we owe you — and that you can hold us to.

  • 01

Reply to every email within 4 business hours.

Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm CT. You’ll almost always hear back inside 2. Nothing goes into a black hole.

  • 02

Fixed monthly pricing. No surprise invoices.

What you sign up for is what you pay. If something genuinely falls outside scope, we tell you before we do it — not after.

  • 03

    Month-to-month on everything.

No 12-month contracts. No early-termination fees. If we’re not earning our keep, fire us.

  • 04

    You own everything.

Domain, site files, content, Google Profile, analytics, reviews. Under your account, your name, always. If you ever leave, you leave with the whole thing intact.

  • 05

    Reports in plain English.

What we did this month. What changed. What it means for your business. No 40-page PDFs full of impression charts.

  • 06

We push back when we disagree.

If we think your idea will cost you money, we’ll tell you. You’re paying us for our judgment, not a rubber stamp.

  • 07

We refer you out if we’re not the right fit.

Every month we turn down clients we could’ve taken. If your business needs something we can’t deliver well, we’ll send you to someone who can.

Honest Self-Awareness

We’re a great fit for some people. A bad fit for others.

Here’s how to tell which one you are. It saves us both time.

You’ll love working with us if…

  • You run a service business, nonprofit, or small team
  • You want more local customers, not just more “traffic”
  • You’d rather pay less and understand more
  • You value directness over agency polish
  • You’re willing to share real business data so we can help
  • You want one team for the long haul — not endless vendor shopping
  • You read your reports instead of filing them

We’re probably not your team if…

  • You want a huge cheerleading squad and monthly QBRs
  • You need someone to rubber-stamp every marketing idea
  • Your marketing has to make claims we can’t back up
  • You want a 40-page strategy deck before month one
  • You need 24/7 on-call support (we do sleep)
  • You’re shopping purely on price and will switch for $50/mo
  • You don’t believe your results depend on your involvement
Small By Design

The team is small on purpose. It’s the only way this works.

When you email ServiceKnight, a real, named, US-based person reads it. That person knows your business — not because they looked you up in a CRM, but because they built your site and they check your rankings.

We’ve been pitched on scaling. Investors, agency acquirers, “growth consultants” who think we’re leaving money on the table by staying lean. They’re right — we are. That money is the cost of actually being able to do what we promise.

Most agencies can’t respond within 4 hours because they’re running 200 accounts through 8 account managers and a layer of freelancers. We can because we’re not. The math only works if the team stays small, so it does.

FAQ

Things people hesitate to ask out loud.

Are you literally a one-person shop?

No — but we’re smaller than most agencies pitching at our level. That’s intentional. Small enough that every client has a direct line to the people doing the work. Big enough that nothing falls through the cracks when someone takes a weekend.

Do you outsource work overseas?

No. Every person who touches your account works on our US-based team. No offshore content mills, no white-labeled SEO vendors, no outsourced helpdesk. If there’s a mistake in your work, it was made by someone on our team — and they’ll fix it.

What happens if I want to leave?

You leave. We transfer your domain, give you your site files, hand back admin on your Google Profile and analytics, and that’s it. No drama, no exit fees, no 90-day transition period where we hold things hostage. We’d rather you leave friendly than stay resentful.

Can you work alongside my in-house marketing person?

Absolutely. Some of our best engagements are with businesses that already have someone in-house. We handle the specialized technical work (site, SEO, hosting) while they handle the brand, content, and customer-facing stuff. Works great.

How do I know you’ll still be around in 5 years?

Fair question. We’ve been building sites for service businesses since 2021, we own our infrastructure, and we’re not dependent on a single big client or funding round. We’re not a sure thing — nobody is — but we’re built to last, not to flip.

What if my business isn’t a “typical” service business?

We’ve worked with home services, nonprofits, professional services, local retail, and a couple of things we couldn’t easily categorize. If you serve customers locally and your success depends on being findable on Google, we can almost certainly help. Email us and describe what you do — we’ll be honest about fit.

Why should I pick you over a freelancer who’s half the price?

Sometimes you shouldn’t. If your budget is tight and your needs are narrow, a good freelancer is a great choice. What we bring is continuity — the same team building your site also does your SEO, hosts your site, and fixes it when it breaks at 11pm. Most freelancers tap out after launch. We’re the team you call for the next five years.

Ready to work with people who actually pick up the phone?

Tell us about your business. We’ll reply within a few hours with honest next steps — whether that’s starting a project together or pointing you somewhere better.
